Why to choose civil engineering as a career

Let me introduce myself as a person who is thinking of choosing a Engineering branch. I have researched for few areas of my interest..

1. Mechanical engineering

2. Computer engineering

3. Electrical engineering

4. Civil engineering.

But only interest doesn’t matter, i should think of how my future life is going to work with this field.
    1. Doing job in this field is satisfying to me?

ü 2. Does it make me happy of doing 9 to 5 job everyday?

ü 3. What if I wondered to do business in my field, do the field have business opportunities in it ?  which will not be so difficult to achieve!!

Let’s talk about listed fields above:-

Mechanical Engineering:

This field attracts me due to my interest in vehicles and similar machinery, but when I think about job , its going to be somehow annoying to work with heavy noisy machines under warm shelters. Don’t know if mechanical market survives in continuous graph or not. Even average job salary is not satisfying to anyone.

Computer engineering:

this is the best branch I wanted to work ideally. Majority of students wanted to go in this field but demand is huge and most of the students are more than 95% holders which makes huge competition. If you are skilled in coding and hardware too then doesn’t matter of number of competition, demand is still going to give you opportunity. But for the job section.... you are going to work in front of screen for all day, you don’t have any social life to spent your time. One error code in your coding and you are going to overtime for that.

Many people even works at home leaving no time for family!!

And health lovers like me will never want to live life sitting on one chair for whole day

Electrical engineering

This is good choice for profession. Well demanded field and gives good job opportunities too. But syllabus of the electrical engineering needs more concentration on learning, solving complicated circuit questions and many more. This is not a field where you can bunk your important lectures and rote in exams. You are going to deal with electrical equipment which could be dangerous on taking lightly. This is for good mathematician students.

Civil Engineering:
There we go for best among all branches in my opinion. Civil engineering gives you wide variety of sub branches. You can be structural engg / construction engg / Geotechnical Engg / surveying engg/ transportation engg / environmental engg / earthquake engg etc. This field is most demanding field in the growing country like india. More focus is on practical learning and most of the time you are just visiting the construction places for study during the course. Talking about the jobs … the demand is huge for civil engineers especially from the govt. if you are good at your knowledge and able to answer basic questions of interviewer, You likely to very good salary offers. This is the only field which gives to opportunity for doing your own private business in all sub branches of civil engineering. Only think is just focus on your learning.
The construction and real estate business is one of most money making businesses around the world. Hence without a doubt, civil engineering is my final choice.
